Eulerian–Lagrangian–Eulerian Simulations of Two-Phase Minimum Quantity Lubrication Flow in Internal Drill Bit Channels

The goal of reducing oil consumption for lubrication machining processes can be achieved by means minimum quantity (MQL). In lubrication, the cutting fluid is a mixture air and where only small amount latter added to mixture. However, this reduced must not detrimental effectiveness process. order analyze performance two-phase dynamics MQL dispersion has investigated. present work, flow internal drilling process was studied numerical modeling simulation based on an Eulerian–Lagrangian–Eulerian (ELE) model. model properly describe transition between aerosol wall liquid film flow. Attention focused in channels twist drill. A parametric study carried out disclose effects three different relevant parameters, namely droplet diameter mass rate at channel inlet drill bit rotational speed, quality inside outlet.
